Overview
STREAM is EcoFlow’s current plug-in (“balcony”) solar line for the UK. The part that matters for the rules is the STREAM microinverter, rated at 800 VA — the maximum a plug-in solar device may output in Great Britain. EcoFlow sells it on its own and bundled with panels and a mounting system.
The ENA Type Test Register lists the bundled kits, not the microinverter sold separately. The listed entry, ECOFL/21128/V1/A3, covers three variants by their internal names: EFStreamPlug-inSolarkit-UK-FlatRoof, EFStreamPlug-inSolarKit-UK-Facade and EFStreamPlug-inSolarKit-UK-PitchedRoof. It is recorded at 0.8 kW and as meeting G98. That entry changed from Non-compliant to Compliant between 22 and 30 September 2026 — see our note on what changed.
This is desk research: manufacturer specifications read from EcoFlow UK on 30 September 2026, checked against our own reading of the register the same day. We have not tested this kit, we do not rank products, and we carry no retailer or affiliate links.

EcoFlow states the microinverter works with third-party panels that fit the input range, and quotes up to 858 kWh a year and up to £115 a year saved for the STREAM system. Those are the manufacturer’s figures, not ours, and they depend entirely on how much of the output you use as it is generated — our calculator lets you try your own numbers.
The 800 VA limit is the inverter’s, not the panels’. Panels may total more than the inverter can pass, and the UK rules cap panels at 2,000 W. See why plug-in solar output is limited.
What the register listing covers
A register entry covers one combination. For the STREAM that means the three named kit variants, each with its inverter, panels and mounting as submitted. Two things follow:
- The microinverter bought on its own is not the listed kit. EcoFlow sells it separately (£129 at list £179 on 30 September 2026). Buying it and pairing it with your own panels gives you a system that is not the combination the register lists.
- STREAM battery units are outside the plug-in route altogether. The rules exclude battery storage, whatever the branding: a battery has to be wired in by an electrician. See why plug-in batteries still need an electrician.
Before buying, match the model code on the seller’s page to the register entry yourself, and check the date: the register gained 24 entries and lost seven in the eight days to 30 September 2026. Our dated list is at kits on the ENA register.
What a listing does not cover
A listing answers one question — whether the kit may be used for plug-in connection. It does not answer the others:
- Tell your network operator. Notification under G98 is required. See G98 notification.
- One device per household, 800 VA maximum, no battery storage. Northern Ireland is not covered.
- Check your consumer unit. Electrical Safety First advises at least a Type A bidirectional RCD on the circuit — see RCDs, DC leakage and plug-in solar.
- Where you mount it matters in England. Plug-in solar on a wooden fence, balcony or timber cladding is not permitted development — see planning permission.
- Tell your insurer. See home insurance and plug-in solar.
Manufacturer documentation
Specifications and prices above come from EcoFlow UK’s own pages, read on 30 September 2026: the STREAM 800W microinverter and the STREAM solar system. The compliance status comes from our own reading of the ENA Type Test Register on the same day. Prices change; check the seller.
